Matthew Burgett Photography Publishes ‘DRAG,’ a Sickening Coffee Table Book

Matthew Burgett Photography has officially published ‘DRAG’ The Book, one part of an ongoing project known as “Project DRAG.”

Kari nickels IMG_0126-EditCleveland-based photographer Matthew Burgett published ‘DRAG’ The Book to raise awareness to the project and spread the word about it. “What makes the project different is that this features entertainers across the country,” Matthew shared. The book includes RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants such as Darienne Lake and Laganja Estranja, and it also features Kari Nickels, “J”, Robyn Hearts, Sonshine La Ray, Olivia Knowles, Andi Drogenous, Derrick Barry, Cookie Crumble, & Cake Moss.

Darienne-Lake-0114-Edit‘DRAG’ The Book is a photographic collection of a handful of gender illusionists who share the stories of where they started, where they are now and the all the adventures in between. Accompanying the artists’ stories, the unique photo sets take look into the world of drag through each entertainer, all photographed by Matthew Burgett.

Matthew and his crew are looking to continue to share these stories. Their mission is to connect amazing entertainers to the bigger community and spread the word about the world of DRAG. Jordan - J-0015-EditAs of now, Matthew Burgett Photography is searching for males of any age and background who can do any genre of the drag entertaining or impersonating and would like to share their experiences. The book is now available at dragthebook.com and will also be sold at RuPaul’s DragCon on May 16-17, 2015.
