The White House just announced something called the National HIV/AIDS Community Discussions, described as "a series of events to be held across the country [...that] will offer the public a chance to provide input as the White House works to fulfill the President’s pledge to develop a National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS)." Programmed by the White House Office of National AIDS Policy, the first event kicks off Aug. 25 in Atlanta — and is clearly an effort for Obama to steal George W. Bush's only worthwhile legacy.
But hey, leave your 9mm pistols at home this time, k?

Way to snarkily comment on Obama for attempting to create a national HIV/Aids strategy…yeah, why don't you get bitchy about that too? Sounds rational.
And to any sane person, while Obama's messaging on health care has been less than perfect, remember that NO PRESIDENT since um, FOREVER(!) has been able to overcome all of the corporate interests, asshole Insurance/Big Pharma lobbyists, bought-and-paid-for lying politicians, and dumbfuck hicks who "don't want the government involved in their Medicare".
Obama's administration stands a good chance of doing what no administration in modern times has been able to..namely to enact meaningful healthcare reform. How about a little fucking support for something that our country sorely needs? Is that beyond your capacity of understanding? And if he can add a comprehensive HIV/Aids strategy as well, even more praise would be deserved.
Suck on it, Queerty!
How's this for starters…
Gay/Bi/MSM account for 50% of HIV cases in the USA, so how about 50% of prevention dollars for our community instead of less than 30%?
How about following the Australian model…and let Gay men design prevention for gay men…which means, yes we have to talk about butt fucking. Kill the restrictions on prevention based "community standards" which is nothing more than homophobia. Kill the Helms Amendment!!!
Sorry, but if Obama wants to do something important to fight AIDS, he should fire Tom Frieden without delay. Frieden was a disaster for people living with HIV in New York City and given a national platform by Obama, he will cause pain and suffering from coast to coast. He is already stripping services for people living with HIV from the national Ryan White funding.
Frieden needs to be safely OUT of the AIDS business. Sadly, Obama is clueless on HIV.
@Qjersey: I do HIV Prevention in NY and it uses that model. And yeah, we talk about butt fucking.
