McCain Drops Preacher Parsley

johnmccain-1.jpg
John McCain encountered more preacher problems last night.

The drama started in the afternoon, when the Republican presidential hopeful denounced Pastor John Hagee, whose comments about Hitler performing "God's will" broke the camel's back.

Mere hours later McCain found himself ousting yet another unholy man, Rod Parsley, who described Islam as "anti-Christ." McCain very cleverly used the repudiation to mention that he never really accepted Parsley, anyway:

I believe there is no place for that kind of dialogue in America, and I believe that even though he endorsed me, and I didn't endorse him, the fact is that I repudiate such talk, and I reject his endorsement.

Things were all well and good when Parsley and Hagee were taking on the homos, of course.

I've got an idea; Why don't McCain and Obama make a gentleman's agreement not to accept any cleric's endorsement?

Christians like Parsley are no better than Muslims (Osama Bin Laden). They both have hateful words in their "holy books" that they believe is directly from god, and they want us queers dead because "god sez so". To say religions are peaceful and can bring people together is a lie. The history of Abrahamic religion is that of violence and wars. Buddhism is less agressive and not evangelical. More about personal growth, and less about imaginary sky beings.

Neither of those pastors was McCain's spiritual guide, unlike Reverend (let's accept a multi-million dollar mansion in an overwhelmingly white golf course community from my 'po bros and sistas, America hating, blowhard) Jeremiah Wright who served for 20 years as the personal pastor for B. Hussein and Michelle (…I've never been proud of America…) Obama. McCain correctly rejected their endorsements and end of story. Obama has lots to answer for with regard to the Wright story. And, Obama, recall what Hillary said today about Bobby Kennedy….. Just a thought.

RPCV I saw McCain say very clearly first Hagee then Parsely was his spiritual guide. They both were until Hagee's comments finally blew up in his face. Your selective memory is pretty amazing. I suspect that you'll mis-construe the previous sentence by dropping the word selective.

Layod: Please ocnduct research before you write/talk. Neither Hagee nor Parsley was McCain's personal pastor; McCain never sat in their pews and listened to them spew hatred a la B. Hussein and Michelle Obama who listened to Reverend Jeremiah "God DAMN America; those white folks planted hiv in the black community" White for 20 years and now claim they knew nothing about Wright's personal feelings.

Get real, Layod. I accept your apology for not knowing how to use google to conduct research prior to making written misrepresentations of the truth.

RPCV and LAYOD:

I think that you both may be missing the point: all three candidates (Hillary has "The Family/Foundation" to contend with) have been associated with entities that might be called "Christofascist" (at least, that's the new word today). Whatever the candidates actually believe is another matter. The big problem we have today is that their "beliefs" have been scrutinized almost to infinity. Before religion became a political issue, one's spiritual beliefs didn't matter. Organized Religion has muscled in on politics and the result is: beliefs = votes.

Organized Religion (e.g. The Moral Majority) has finally had its say in politics. The results, however, are not pretty: while gaining power, O.R. has exposed some of its own eccentrics (O.K., you call them crackpots). And some of these strange pastors truly HAVE SOME POWER (especially in the medium of TV). In other words, don't underestimate the Hagees and the Parsleys of Christofascism. Denouncing them is not going to make them go away.
Neither is calling them "crackpots""loonies" or (in Pat Robertson's case)"senile". They're used to those sobriquets. Their "flocks" don't care either.

These people are dangerous. There may be no effective way to declaw them.

Remember: "Organized Religion is the devil's greatest masterpiece."

It's very strange how these two Pastors are getting a pass by Clinton supporters. And you're right I guess the Obama's are wrong to sit in a church where a Pastor has said things, that none of you can prove he has said them for 20 yrs remember key word 20 yrs.
Strom Thurmond and George Wallace can change. But I guess Jeremiah can’t, HUH?

Also and if that is so bad. Then what about you in your parents home growing up and hearing them calling Blacks "NIGGERS" and such. I guess that's different????
YEAH RIGHT.

Just like this http://www.ajc.com/metro/conte.....ab_newstab

It's really nice to see some hypocrites NOT ALL but some.
A pastor regardless of what you can separate yourself from.
YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER YOU CAN'T!

And McCain is full of shit. If he was under a pastor who did the same thing. You all would have had your words and then moved on. But because someone who doesn't identify with you in some ways. It has become holy hell with Wright and you all saying Nobama, and all of that BULL.

But it won't matter neither side will budge and McCain will win. And after his Ellen performance.
GOOD LUCK GIRLS
You won't have much of a chance living this lifestyle freely come Jan under a McCain presidency

Barack Obama: Displays His Penis for The Press

Posted by Larry Sinclair on Saturday, May 24, 2008
CNN which claims to be the leader in Cable News cannot even report that the Democratic Presidential Candidate displayed disrespectful and disgusting behavior by parading an erection in front of female press.

Gee, he has quite a boner!!!!

Well, it IS a good looking boner! And his body's not bad, either. Yes, the behavior was a bit disrespectful, but, then again, we don't know who the other people were. It's certainly no worse than young(er) Bush giving the media the finger. I would fault Obama for not having the sense to know that from now on, EVERYTHING he does will be done in public, and the times that he wishes to engage people privately or in a playful manner will be very few indeed. The reason is not so much the media, but the fact that we now have no faith in politicians. What we find out about a presidency usually happens waaaay after the fact. Bush's secrecy has added to that feeling not knowing what our top officials are doing for us, against us, or for themselves.Obama will be pulled here, pushed there, paparazzied. I would hate to give up picking my nose at inappropriate moments just because the entire world would see it. I don't envy Obama.

I wonder how many realize the profound significance of the recent subpoena of Karl Rove by the House Judiciary Committee.

Let me lay it out for you.

If what Karl Rove did to the US election rolls is not corrected by November, John McCain has already been elected president.

This subpoena is the LAST chance to set things right.
