John McCain attempted to steal a bit of Barack Obama’s thunder last night. In addition to making a fairly unnecessary speech celebrating the start of the general election, Senator McCain also took it upon himself to “borrow” Obama’s “change” rhetoric. And, sadly, McCain’s efforts are more comedic than powerful:
This is, indeed, a change election. No matter who wins this election, the direction of this country is going to change dramatically. But, the choice is between the right change and the wrong change; between going forward and going backward.
…
[We must] change what must be changed; and make the future better than the past. The right change recognizes that many of the policies and institutions of our government have failed.
Right… Sorry, McCain, but we’re inclined to believe your unspecified “right” change is flat out wrong.
Dear American Voters,
Hon. Senator McCain and Obama, besides each having many attributes and characteristics. The critical differences in my professional, political, and personal opinion are as under:
1. Presidential “Temperament and Composer”.
2. Little Washington “insider Versus outsider” connectedness.
3. Vision and mission for our nation future rather than past.
4. American policies first USA centric than other countries centric.
In my professional opinion one senator has it and the other does not. We need one for our Greatgrand Nation to address our all these challenges with a fresh, clean and new slate.
God Bless America. its diverse people, and our Greatgrand Nation.
Yours truly,

That speech was so bad it was hilarious! All his reactions were scripted on the teleprompter, and every time he smiled, he looked like he was having a stroke! If we can’t beat this in November, we should just give it up.
hahahaha
I think what did it for me was the sickly smile thrown in every so often. Also his tone + obvious reading of the lines. It was like watching Chris Walken on SNL.
Every time he smiled, my cat ran under the couch. Girlfriend needs to look into veneers.
Meanwhile, Obama is sooo going to kick his ass in the fall.
One of the worst speeches ever given by a politician. It will go down in history
It was so incredibly awkward and forced. And the crowd size seemed more fitting for someone like Alan Keyes, not the presumptive Republican nominee.
@ Gregoire
That’s saying something, considering we’ve had to suffer through George W. bush stumble over his words for 8 years.
