This week “#ToMyUnbornChild” cropped up as a Twitter hashtag for folks to send virtual notes to their hypothetical future children.
Sappy? Yes, but fairly inoffensive.
Until, that is, more than 100 people started tweeting how they’d kill their offspring if they turned out gay or lesbian.
“#ToMyUnbornChild if you so much as think about being a homosexual I’ll put a bullet in your head.”
“#ToMyUnbornChild if you’re gay I’ll kill you and make another.” —T-raaw
Are we talking about in utero? Because usually these kinds of rancid homophobes are pro-life.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
At any rate, here’s just a sampling of these twitidiots ‘nauseating missives. One hopes that—should they procreate at some point in the far, far, far future—they’ll realize how stupid and vicious they were being and take the time to teach their children better
Well, we can hope so, anyway.

That just made me sick to my stomach!

Uh, Storify isn’t the content author. The original post was created using Storify by @homophobes on Twitter.

Normally, gays don’t know they’re gay until they become teenagers, although some children know earlier. When they discover their gay attraction, they almost never tell the parents but remain gay in secret until they leave for college. They may even date the opposite sex just to fool the parents. Then, after you put them through college with your hard earned money, they will call you on the phone saying they are gay. Haha! You think I’m kidding? That’s exactly what they do!

I wonder if I put this list against the list of girls who Tweeted about not minding if Chris Brown beat them, if I’d find any of the same people.

love to know how many of these shits consider themselves christian?? and I’m sure they think they are super patriotic.
no question about it…america is a fucking mess
David Gervais
#5 … why are you puking up hate speech against Haitians? Or anyone else for that matter?
On second thought, I don’t care why, your comment is unacceptable for any reason.
CBRad
@Larry: Are they even American? the language doesn’t seem to be.
CBRad
@David Gervais: I thought “bloodclat” was Jamaican, anyway..

Sickening stuff to read: it’s not just for the lulz, though, because every LGB or T who comes across those tweets gets another reminder of just how much hate exists still in this world.
I read elsewhere that some people saw these msgs as just sarcasm or jokes, but that’s BS…we can’t magically read the intent.
I wish we had a better way to drown out those voices….

@Kev C: I don’t understand what your point is? Are you implying that these kids are TRICKING their parents into paying for their education by not telling them the truth about their sexual orientation sooner? It’s very difficult to come out of the closet to one’s parents and it takes a lot of time and consideration beforehand. Sexual orientation shouldn’t determine whether a parent pays for college or not – a good parent would love, accept, and support (emotionally and financially) their child regardless if he/she is gay, straight, bisexual, etc.
Kev C
@Tara: I was addressing would-be parents. They can’t prevent gays at an early age because it doesn’t appear until later. By the time the parent knows they’re gay, it’s usually too late to kill them.

What is this Twitter thing? Seems pointless, and this post just confirms it.
Thank you Queerty for giving these haters, something thing called, publicity.

I thought that abortion was unbiblical if their reason for being against homosexuality is based on the Bible. Also they have just admitted that homosexuality isn’t a choice. Wow!
PS
Abortion is murder regardless of sexuality. Individuals freedoms and protections for gays and lesbians – and for all of the unborn.

John Waters once said something along the lines of, “If you cannot love your child, please don’t have it; I don’t want your kid growing up and killing me.”
Not only is that my sentiment exactly, but I think it’s also important to remember that vulnerability to mental illness is somewhat genetic… so… here is to hoping these Twitter brats don’t have children.

My parents found out that I’m gay when I was 13. They got angry. But I realized that they didn’t get angry at me, they got angry at the countless assholes who they believe will harass me in the future. My mom cried not because she thought being gay is a sin but because there are a lot of idiots who think that. My dad threw a fit thinking that he would be too old to protect me if shit goes down. I guess, I’m pretty lucky considering the alternative. Parents are not all bad. Some of them just genuinely don’t know what to do.

#ToMyFutureParent make sure that you have the “pretty” gene to compensate for the “stupid” gene that you’re passing on to me.

@Kev C: Although I totally agree with your general point here, Kev, you have told us you haven’t come out to your father because you consider the whole notion of coming out to be “rediculous” (sic), at least for you. Please elaborate.

@PS: How long a prison term do you want for a woman who has an abortion?
If it’s really “murder,” you want life imprisonment, right? Or why not just electrocute her?
(Eventually the Republican Party will choke on its own crazy “logic” and fade away like the Whigs!)
Kev C
@the other Greg: I can’t tell my dad anything. Dead people just don’t care.

Would Jesus abort his gay baby?
Mrs. Robinson
Children are born with their personalities. As a parent, you can maybe tweak it a little bit, but kids are what they are. It’s not the kid’s job to change. It’s your job as a parent to adapt your parenting style to fit the kid’s personality. I have four children and each one is their own different person with varying likes and dislikes.
Dollars to donuts these twittering folks don’t have any kids. People who offer parenting advice when they don’t have any kids are usually stupid pricks who should be held down while a taser is applied to their anus.
the other Greg
@brian: If Jesus got pregnant, that would be an even bigger miracle than his mom getting pregnant!
Kyle
@Kev C: Normally? I knew I liked boys when I was 6. I didn’t know there was a word for it until I was a teenager. Speak for yourself.
Kyle
@Kev C: Doesn’t appear till later? What? Homosexuality? Kev C….are you kind of slow?
Shannon1981
This is just disgusting. Doesn’t twitter have rules against hate speech?
PS
@the other Greg:
I don’t support capital punishment and haven’t in several years. Life in prison sounds about fine, especially for any doctor. I don’t see any justification for killing another person regardless of how you want to rationalize it. “Oh, but… what if…” There’s always some scenario that sounds horrendous and unfair. But, an unborn gay (or straight) child should haven’t to be the victim of a parent that doesn’t plan OR the victim of a tragic circumstance (rape). None of these deserve taking the life away of someone who is innocent. Each person has their own view on this subject & that’s mine.
lohen
@Kev C:
lol I told my mom while I was in college halfway across the country from her in a I.M. >.////<
Shannon1981
@PS: Until the unborn can live without the woman carrying, it is a parasite and the woman is a host. Uncomfortable truth, but truth nonetheless. That is why all this “personhood” bullshit is failing.
