I know how weird it must be for Meghan McCain to be in favor of LGBT equality, and then turn to the man who stands in the way of enacting such policies and call him “dad.” So what’s Meghan McCain’s solution for all the Twitter bombs she receives demanding she take a bat to her father until he changes his mind on Don’t Ask Don’t Tell?
Tell ’em to turn their anger away from her and toward politicians. LIKE HER FATHER. Because boy is she tired of hearing about it.

She’s already a bit of a traitor to reason, though, by ditching her registration and affiliation as an independent and joining one of the corrupt major parties, so why expect more?

Meghan McCain is a liar and gay groups need to call her out on it.
Obama signed the Hate crimes bill which is the first federal law that has acknowledged gays and acknowledges us as a protected class.
Obama has issued a directive banning hospitals from discriminating against gay couples in respect to hospital visitation rights.
Obama is for the repeal of DADT and that is why the democrats proposed the bill and why it is being voted on.
She knows she is lying when she says that Obama has done nothing for gays and that he isn’t for gay rights.
She is trying to deflect blame away from her bigoted father.
I use to like her but I consider her disgusting now.

@josh: She didn’t say Obama has done nothing for gays. She said he isn’t exactly advocating for gay rights or DADT removal.
What about that isn’t true? He is not what you’d call a strong advocate (even though he claimed to be one) and he has dragged his feet and been very wishy washy on DADT.
I like the guy, and i’m still proud of voting for him. But he plays it safe too often.

She said recently on Fox News while she was promoting her book that Obama had done nothing for the gay community.
She is constantly distorting things like make Obama seem worse than he is on gay issues and to make it seem like her father isn’t as bad as he really is on gay issues.

I’m not a huge Meghan fan BUT she’s done more for “us” than Mary Cheyney or either of the Bush daughters. Would rather have her on our side than against us. Young women of her generation may be influenced by her views, and if she changes or opens up even a few Republican minds, that’s a plus — not a minus.

I like Meghan McCain. I don’t agree with her on a lot of things, but I think she’s actively trying to bring rationality back to the Republican party. She backs up her opinions with logic and not with the pathos that is so rampant in both parties.
And she has a point about Obama.
