Mexico’s First Married Gays Run Late To Their Own Wedding

While Argentina’s gay marriage laws are attacked in the judicial system, Mexico City’s homos took full advantage of the capital city’s marriage law taking effect. Five couples, all LGBT activists, wed on Thursday, and of course they were running on GST: Gay Standard Time. “The head of Mexico City’s civil registry married four couples in a simple ceremony on the patio of a colonial city hall to cheers and applause from family, friends and local politicians. A fifth couple arrived late for the event — but were quickly married afterward.” [Montreal Gazette]
