I drive a tractor-trailer and have NO problem entering Canada or the US. Co-operate with the border guards regardless of how frustrated or board you KNOW they are. Only a dummy or well taken care of queen would bother with arguing with what will clearly be a losing argument at your expense. Any fool should know that by now. Customs agents are St. Peter as far as your vacation/business travel getting off to a rosy start.

Imagine pissing off guards so bad that they give you an x-ray and determine that something suspicious showed up. Now they have the right to not only detain you but give you laxatives to force a bowel movement. Now to put the icing on their cake they give YOU rubber gloves and make you squeeze your own feces.

I have heard the joke that if they caught you with guns you’d get in more trouble because you might sell them than the possibility you might kill someone with them.

If you come into the country with only $300, staying at a 5-star hotel, have a history of pornography (which it’s not unreasonable for a Canada Customs agent to assume he might actually turn tricks) and say he forgot his wallet, damn right he’s going to get scrutiny. Making porn is not the issue, but remember it is also an industry with that is rife with prostitution and drug trade, both of which are illegal. He gave them every right to question his trip because he didn’t have all his i’s dotted and t’s crossed. They interrogated him multiple times because if someone is going to come in for impure motives, the holes will quickly form in their story.

Had he have just filled out the one-page visa form (he runs his own business, this is extremely simple), had his wallet, and presumably been up front about the reason for his trip, he would likely have no problem.

Will he be paying any taxes on the money he is making for this personal appearance?

I’ve had several shitty experiences dealing with US border agents, especially when traveling with my partner who is not a US citizen. Luckily, other countries, including Canada have been nice and smooth so far. Fingers crossed.
