UPDATE: Santorum And Bachmann Pledge to Outlaw Gayness, Abortion, Porn

UPDATE (5:09 PM PST): Rick Santorum has jumped on the anti-gay, pro-slavery crazy bus as well.

—-

Confessed murder-clown and 3rd place GOP Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann just signed the pledge of an Iowan social-conservative group thus promising to oppose any branch of government that extends rights to legally married gay couples and declaring that black families were stronger under slavery.

No, we’re not exaggerating.

Let’s take a closer look at the finer points of this pledge (along with our notes explaining what each line actually means):

- a child born in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA’s first African-American President.

Not only do I like the implication that black families were totally better under slavery (nevermind the rape, beatings, forced work, inhumane living conditions, and the fact that slave owners regularly split up families just to make more money), but bonus points for implying that as the first African-American president that it’s somehow Obama’s fault.

- Vigorous opposition to any redefinition of the Institution of Marriage – faithful monogamy between one man and one woman – through statutory-, bureaucratic-, or court-imposed recognition of unions which are bigamous, polygamous, polyandrous, same-sex, etc.

Read: oppose the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government should they require Americans to treat other married or non-monogamous couples as equal. Any person who is not straight and fucking only one person for the rest of their lives doesn’t deserve the rights or legal protections of marriage.

- Earnest, bona fide legal advocacy for the Defense of Marriage Act at the federal and state levels.

Because the government has thousands and thousands of taxpayer dollars to oppose the rights of states to create their own marriage laws and treat their own committed, hardworking citizens as equals. We need to prosecute and keep queers down, no matter the costs, even though it doesn’t help create jobs, helps tear families apart, and leaves kids rotting in state care.

- Steadfast embrace of a federal Marriage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which protects the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman in all of the United States.

That is she first wants to bungle up the bicameral houses of Congress by forcing both to reach a two-thirds majority vote on a constitutional amendment that’s increasingly unpopular with Americans and then force states to fight over the proposed amendment when all its most likely to do is precipitate an atmosphere of violence against LGBT people rather “protect” marriage. If she was serious about protecting marriage, she’d wanna an amendment banning divorce.

- Human protection of women and the innocent fruit of conjugal intimacy – our next generation of American children – from human trafficking, sexual slavery, seduction into promiscuity, and all forms of pornography and prostitution, infanticide, abortion, and other types of coercion or stolen innocence.

Ban all porn. Good luck getting the male vote. And what better way to protect women than to deny their right to reproductive health, force them to have unwanted kids, and drive them to back alley abortions that could potentially kill them? Awesome. Totally pro-woman, that Michele.

- Rejection of Sharia Islam and all other anti-woman, anti-human rights forms of totalitarian control.

Yeah, let’s ban Islamic teachings by first calling all Muslims violent and misogynist. After all, we wouldn’t want religious fundamentalists forcing us all follow their theocratic laws, right?

- That practices such as adultery, bisexuality, homosexuality, anal intercourse, group sex, promiscuity, serial marriage, polygamy, polyandry, and extramarital sex individually or collectively lead to general improvements in: HIV, E Coli, Hepatitis, Chancroid, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Herpes simplex, genital warts, HPV, pubic lice, scabies, anal incontinence, and abortion.

Yeah, sleeping with more than one person will the rest of your life will result in HPV, herpes, abortion, and worst of all ANAL INCONTINENCE. None of those things will ever happen to you if you fuck just one person forever.

And the guy whose organization wrote this pledge—Bob Vander Plaats, a man behind the campaign to remove all Iowa Supreme Court justices who voted for marriage equality. In April 2011, Plaats called homosexuality a choice and a health risk worse then smoking:

So, the question remains – Why has Iowa has outlawed smoking in public, and now texting while driving, in an effort to improve public health and safety while continuing to sanction self destructive sexual behavior? What’s worse, smoking or sodomy? According to the numbers, it’s not even close…

“If we’re teaching the kids, ‘don’t smoke, because that’s a risky health style,’ the same can be true of the homosexual lifestyle.”[

Yes, all this supported by the current 3rd place GOP Presidential candidate, ladies and germs.

This is racist, biogoted, hatred, being passed off as politics. A member of Congress signed a document that says slaves were better off than people who are free today. It is outrageous, and she should have to resign her seat in Congress, and withdraw from running for President.

And guess what group is really behind the pledge?

I would be completely terrifed if I was an American and this woman got in. Even as a Canadian, knowing that this dipshit would be running the most powerful country in the world, right below my country, is enough to scare me. What an idiot. But even worse, an idiot with a political platform, the worst kind of all.

Wow. I mean, I knew she was out there but this… the things that this pledge stands for border on criminal insanity. And just the other day I was talking with my aunt (family twice, if you catch the meaning) about how Bachmann wouldn’t get the Republican vote because she has an image of being too intellectual. I guess that’s not her issue anymore.

I never thought I could loathe someone as much as I do Sarah Palin, but Michelle Bachmann certainly fits the bill. The fact that she would sign something like this is reprehensible but will the mainstream media even cover this? Don’t hold your breathe.
And a “nice” added touch by saying the African American family was stronger during the days of slavery than it is after 2008. We need to declare war on these bigots!

Not that I’m defending this pledge or Michelle Bachmann, but it doesn’t say that she would “Ban all porn”. It says she will protect women from all forms of pornography and prostitution. There are ways to do that without actually outlawing pornography.

Bachmann is a joke; having said that, it’s silly liberal fantasy to imagine she’ll be the Republican nominee for president, but I guess now that you don’t have Palin and her family to smack around any more, it’s open season on female candidates. Much like with Palin, the left’s hatred of her fuels the right’s love of her, so perhaps if Queerty and the rest of the media would stop giving her so much press, she’d go away. But that’s just wishful thinking on my part, I know.

6 PM at the Bachmann residence:

      DR: Honey, I’m home.
MB: Hi dear. How was your day?
DR: It was a good day. I worked with a few kids and told them how God hates their behavior and that they cannot trust their own feelings because that’s the devil inside them. I told them how this devil will consume them and they will end up burning in hell for eternity. Then there was this 15 yo boy who had attempted suicide before. He was crying and looked so dejected… I hope he doesn’t try that again. I left him alone to deal with his own demons… so I knew what I was doing was working.
Also, Michelle, he is very effeminate in his mannerisms, especially his voice.
      MB: How’s that, honey?
DR: Well, it’s kind of like he has a slight hint of a lisp and it’s a very high pitched voice. There’s just something about it that caught my attention.
MB: Yes dear, I’ve heard how that can be a clue that he’s gay. But, for some reason, I feel so comfortable around that type of voice.
DR: Hmmm… [awkward pause] Oh, how was your day?
MB: Remember we were talking last night about how the most important agenda we have together is to obliterate all gays, lesbians and those other really strange ones??? And how we are to be so committed to this agenda that we should disregard all government that supports them?
      DR: Yes
MB: Well, THE FAMILY LEADER, in Iowa, wants to do the same thing and they have this pledge they want all of us republicans to sign.
DR: Well, did you sign it?
MB: Yes, I did! AND, Guess What? There’s a bonus! Remember that meeting with David Duke we had where we realized he has some excellent ideas about the disintegration of this country because of the interracial behaviors and acceptance of freedom for those people? Well, they had a line in this pledge telling the truth that those people were better off back in the glory days of this country than they are now under one of their own being president. I had to sign it when I read that line.
      DR: Great work, honey.
      MB: You too, dear
DR: I’m going to go back into my special room now to do more detailed research of those horrible, awful, hateful, bum-rimming, gym bunnies, body stripping, flamboyant guys who seem to be enjoying themselves. Give me a couple of hours and I’ll be ready for our romantic dinner.
MB: Okay, hon. Can you put that box of kleenex outside your door before you close it? I’m out. You are the head of the household so I will make sure Mammy gets our dinner ready for then.

Hate speech is when you uphold your religious beliefs beyond human rights! The right to live! the right to be respected….THOSE ARE RIGHTS! Any speech that goes against fundemantal human rights is HATE speech. It is possible to not like if a man wears a dress, then again if you are a man and don’t like men in dresses, don’t wear a fuckin$ dress. What is it to you, what does it change in your life? If a woman choses to wear mens clothing, is ti wrong? Well you know what, it used to be! If man on man or woman on woman relationships aren’t good for you….Stay heterosexual and you won’t have a problem! Do I, as a gay man care what my heterosexual friends, neighbors, familly do in bed? NO effin way! So why are they so interested in what I do sexually? HUM? makes me wonder? I never think, imagine or fantasize about theire sex lives? Why do they think of mine?

@Mr. Enemabag Jones: Actually, one of the things (the last item mentioned from the list) in the pact is that Bachmann promises to stop serial marriages, or at least recognizes that they are harmful and that she would maybe punish people who do such a thing.

So, basically, she’s trying to become the only Republican in the USA.

So this what conservative/tea party folks mean by “small, nonintrusive government”?
Bachmann is just another delusional tea party brown-nosing theocrat who pretentiously claims to be doing “God’s work” — using cherry-picked biblical passages to justify her brand of social intolerance and religious self-righteousness.

Bachmann insists that she is not a flake. “I am a serious person”. And then she signs a pledge suggesting that slavery was not that bad after all.

Not a flake? Methinks she has a bit more work to do.

I partly agree with Bachmann on porn and abortion. Here are my reasons below.

Porn is counter-productive to GLBT rights, and presents a skewed version of sexuality that is based on marketing and prostitution rather than on genuine human sexuality. You only have to look at the bisexual double standard in almost every porn movie that contains men and women mixing together: female bisexuality is allowed, male bisexuality isn’t. Thus, the female-female sexual interaction is presented as “normal” whereas the male-male one is treated as non-existent or abhorrent.

On abortion, I have a real problem with women who claim they have the right to choose. Why didn’t you choose to keep your zipper shut in the first place, honey? Also, keep in mind that, were it possible to detect a gay gene in an embryo, feminists would be supporting a woman’s right to choose to terminate it. This is what blanket choice does.

The Bible is clear — women in politics and offering opinions is an abomination — ergo, what on earth is she doing flouting the Bible’s teachings?

And if Santorum or Bachmann or any of these loons ever gets elected to the presidency and tries to outlaw gay smooching again we should demand to get arrested and jailed — and they will call this punishment and we will call this the weirdest Club Med ever devised by the folly of mankind.

On the other hand, oh how I do wish they’d ratchet up the nastiness — it might get some complacent people off their duffs and start to really make a difference.

Still, Obama is a wimp on gay issues, and he & the Democrats are bankrupting the nation, so it might not make a difference any which way.

Meanwhile Gary Johnson is the only rational Republican on the presidential trail — and at the rate the loons are falling apart he might very well wind up the nominee — and he’s for fiscal sanity and gay marriage.

Really Jim? Enough of the Republican/Civil Libertarian sspin. Enough of the lies. It is time that everyone educate themselves to what has really caused our exploding budget deficits.

Americans have been short-changed as supply side economic policies have allowed the accumulation of wealth by a certain group (plutocratic corporations) at the expense of the country’s infrastructure, education, and social safety net. Where did all those jobs go under 8 years of Bush after giving the wealthiest further tax breaks under his watch?

While Republicans continuously preach that they are the party of fiscal responsibility, that is a provable lie. Simply, mathematics is absolute. One must continue to ask why is it that the media continue to allow the Republican’s narrative of being fiscally responsible to take hold. They have never been. Civil Libertarians too are still republicans.

We went from a $5.6 trillion surplus that George W. Bush inherited from the Clinton administration to over $11-plus trillion debt after Bush left office. So to say it is Obama’s debt and that the debt limit needs to be extended because of Obama is simply not true.

tjr101, let them vote for Johnson or Ron Paul for that matter. Neither are going anywhere, a republican is a republican no matter the label some others use to give the impression they are distancing themselves or do not consider themselves republican. As I said before, when push comes to shove, they’ll vote for whoever gets the GOP nod even if they don’t agree with them. I have a lot more facts to backup what they come back at me with.

David Stockman, a former republican director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB)under Reagan (he’s still a republican by the way) recently said that the republican fiscal strategy is headed for disaster. If they refuse to come to a deal on the debt-ceiling, they’ll destroy America’s pre-emininent economic power. Reagan raised taxes on the wealthiest 11 times.

queerty should not need to lie nor act stupidly to bash her

Note the referencing of the radical Soros-funded Think Progress as a legitimate source? Discerning readers will note the uncritical acceptance of Think Progress as a source in the reporting in this piece.

Not only did the Washington Post uncritically accept the claim that Bachmann signed a pledge to “ban porn” – so has ABC News writer Russell Goldman, who does not post a link at all in his “Note” piece talking about the issue.

Only problem is, these news outlets engaged in lazy reporting got it wrong – and once again it was up to the blogosphere to set the record straight, because in actuality, the pledge Bachmann signed had nothing to do with “banning pornography” – as Colby Hall at the liberal Mediaite, not exactly a Bachmann-friendly site, pointed out.

I will NOT respect nor tolerate is when media outlets accept without question the bogus “reporting” done by liberal blogs and websites, which is clearly what has happened here. As a result, their lack of reading the actual document itself and instead relying on a ultra liberal blog whose reputation is questionable at best has poisoned the information stream that Average Joes who do NOT follow politics rely on to help them form opinions on both issues and candidate

I urge, no, beg you to never, never, never, never automatically trust the “controversial” stories queerty ‘reports’ about any non-far left-wing person– especially when it has the audacity to rely on fact-challenged liberal blogs like Think Progress.

Wait, being in favor of free speech is a right-wing talking point? This is news to me. I have never made a comment on this site until very recently. I’m not sure where you get your “always,” and I’ve certainly never said anything on this site about the debt, deficit, or economics in general. I make a simple comment agreeing with the famous Voltaire quote, and now I’m labeled a right-wing nutcase? I’m so glad calm, rational minds lead the discussion on this site.

@The Artist: I would agree to some extent, wanting to avoid adding fuel to the fire. However, I think people should be made aware of these candidates’ positions on social issues since they are running for president. I’ve noticed Bachmann try to remain mum about her radical social views.

Bachmann is soooooooo stupid. Why do clowns like her keep popping up? Don’t people realize that religion is a farce? Why are people slaves to a God that does not exist? Willful slavery. Its pathetic, frankly. Time for Americans to grow up and understand that religion is a silly lie, and for thinking people to grow a pair and tell these deluded fools Christianity is ridiculous. When will people stand up to religious fundamentalism???

A few years ago when his wife gave birth and the baby didn’t live but a few hours, Santorum took his dead son home for his living children to “meet”, which some might consider harmless but I’ve always thought it more than a little demented. Not for a wake or service, but bundled in a blanket like a live baby, talking to the corpse and everything. Griefstricken I understand but that just seems way beyond what his other young children should be exposed to and could really comprehend. *shudders*

Banning porn is a good idea. It distorts human sexuality and conributes to discrimination against gay and bisexual men. It’s almost enough to make me want to vote for Michelle.
