Miley Cyrus’ Terrible Handling Of Her Lesbian Kiss ‘Scandal’

Of all people, doesn’t Miley Cyrus know that to fully capitalize on a scandal, you have to let it brew for a few days? Her faux lesbian lip lock on Britain’s Got Talent is barely 24 hours old and already she’s telling people to quiet down about it. Wrong move, Cyrus.

“To all my fans, Thank you for all the support you all show me,” she wrote on her website after the “scandal” erupted. “Sometimes you’re the only thing keepin’ me goin’ strong! There are so many people out there that are so negative and always causing new issues. I feel like the entertainment industry has become nothing but a disgusting tabloid.” And: “GET OVER IT! NOTHING HAPPENED. THERE ARE WAYYYYYYY MORE IMPORTANT THINGS IN THE WORLD. Let’s start focusing a little less on making up ignorant rumors and focus a little more on world peace!”

Oh, silly girl. You’re only 17, but you should be media savvier than most. The key to really milking this thing is to let the pundits and conservatives complain to Ofcom (the British version of America’s FCC) and talk about how you’re stunt was overly sexual and going to corrupt the minds of wee ones. Only then do you release a statement about how it was no big deal, and how all your critics are stupid for wasting so much breath on a non-issue.

The one smart thing you did? Immediately head to the club G-A-Y in London to get all the g-boys on your side.
