Minnesota Rep. Peggy Scott Is Heartbroken, But It’s Not Why You Think

skitched-20130510-130217Stop staring at her photo. Poor Peggy Scott is sad and it’s not because her hairstylist has gone awol. The Minnesota  state lawmaker, who is currently serving her third term in the House, says her heart is breaking because her state voted to allow marriage equality there are all of those thousands of soon-to-be-wed same-sex couples.

Scott eloquently shared her woeful tale with the Star-Tribune:

“It’s a divisive issue that divides our state,” she said, wiping tears from her eyes as she stood on the House floor after the vote. “It’s not what we needed to be doing at this time. We want to come together for the state of Minnesota, we don’t want to divide it.”

She’s unbeweavable.
