The problem with viewing marriage (or anything) in material, monetary terms, is that it diminishes the love and spirituality of the bond between two people. It robs us of what makes us human. But then again, he is an android. I guess next he will be promoting more f**king so there will be more babies born who will need clothes, food, shelter, etc.... He tied the two together - wishing someone good luck with their marriage, welcoming others to come visit CA to get married, and joking about how it will help the economy. I - being both a supporter of marriage and a supporter of a good economy - thought it was funny and also relevant. I'm sure that travel agencies, wedding planners, and hotels are all happy with the idea of visitors coming here to get married. And most of those businesses are supportive of gays.
