Ever since Queen Latifah accepted an offer to perform at Long Beach Pride on May 19, rumors have been bubbling up that she was coming out. Some believed performing at an LGBT event was in itself a nod to queer fans, while others are saying she’ll be making a big announcement soon.
Now the site TruthQuake is claiming the singer-actress-spokesmodel “is going to announce publicly that she is lesbian” from the stage.
“Queen Latifah wants to come out at Pride because it’s a place where people will appreciate her showing her support of the LGBT community,” said the insider source close to the actress/rapper/singer.
“She has a lot of gay and bi fans. They know she’s lesbian, and they love that she’s so successful, but they’ll be thrilled when she finally ‘comes out’ publicly”
“People in the LGBT community don’t want to push her because they know it’s not easy facing other people who you think may judge you badly, and if you’re famous there are even more people to judge. But, they’ll be thrilled to know she’s finally announcing it.”
In 2008, La told The New York Times “I don’t feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not.” She’s long been linked to fitness trainer Jeanette Jenkins.

I don’t understand why celebs like her don’t just do it already. EVERYBODY knows, including their families, so just say it in support of other gay men and women out there. With some celebs it’s a guessing game, but with ones like Queen Latifah it’s so obvious (there’s even photographic evidence) that it’s just a joke already.

I say ditto about her that I said about Anderson Cooper. OVER it, with the excuses. Granted, she’s got it a bit tougher being black and formerly involved with rap but that’s way behind her now. And it may be tricky since she’s involved in all these mainstream activities now. Cover Girl, Pizza Hut, Jenny Craig etc. oh well. Suck it up.
