Those Mormons sure do know how to mobilize!
In an effort to reverse California’s gay marriage ruling, the Church of Latter-day Saints has encouraged members to donate to Proposition 8, which would re-ban gay marriage. And they’re raising money hand over fist:
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have contributed more than a third of the approximately $15.4 million raised since June 1 to support Proposition 8. The ballot initiative, if passed, would reverse the current right of same-sex couples to marry.
The tally of Mormon contributions was provided by Frank Schubert, campaign manager for ProtectMarriage.com — Yes on 8, the initiative’s primary backer. A finance-tracking group corroborated Mormon fund-raising dominance, saying it could exceed 40%.
Pro-gay campaigns, meanwhile, have raised about $13 million; none of it came from the Church.

Killing innocent settlers and enslaving their children isn’t enough for the morons oops Mormons. Now they feel the need to stick their dirty cult loving noses into another states’ laws. Which one of Brigham Young’s multiple marriages are they trying to protect? The Mormon “church†is nothing but a mind control cult worse than even the Scientologists. But through money, dirty politics and murder they have purchased cultural acceptability for this outrageous sect of mental defectives.

More stories of vile and nasty sky pixie worshippers.
Give these fuckers no respect, abuse and be rude to them, as if they are mentally defective (which of course they are!).

It’s apparent from the comments made that neither of you are very educated about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In case you didn’t know, the practice of polygamy was ended over 180 years ago. In regards to the Church sticking it’s nose into another states’ laws, the support was donated by citizens of California. That would mean that people are donating to a cause in their own state. I hope you would take the time to actually learn about others before ruthlessly insulting and demeaning them.

Bryan you are not much of a propagandist for the morons oops Mormons. The Mormon “church†(its really a cult) didn’t exist 180 years ago it started with some chicken (really look it up) speaking about golden plates that were hidden inside a hat band that belonged to some asshole in Missouri.

If you look into it, the Mormon church is an easy target, even easier than most other religions — perhaps because all their mumbo-jumbo took place in pretty recent history.
Whatever they’re doing, the Mormons seem to be able to mobiize people. Utah must in many respects be like a totalitarian state (State?).
In SoCal, many Mormons had offensive law signs(I’m talking 4 ft. x 6 ft) last time we voted on gay marriage here. They said things like “Adam & Eve not Adam & Steve.” I haven’t seen those this time around, at least not yet. I have had some young people — well dressed — stop by to distribute an anti-gay pamphlet about a month ago, but that’s all I’ve seen.
I just wish they would have a revelation that told them this is a secular matter and to keep their noses out, etc. Please get together you Mormon elders and get revealed, and leave Mr. Sulu and other gay people who want to get married alone. In the end, the money saved can be used for more edifices.

The Mormon church is such a joke. They claim allowing gays to gain access to marriage is an attack on marriage even though they peddled polygamy. Besides that, they think Jesus visited America and the garden of Eden was near Missouri. Even by religion standards, THAT is stupid.
Yes on 8: Protect Marriage
Mormon, Married father of 3, and made first political contribution of my life of $2500 to Yes on 8. Its not about being anti-Gay its about being pro-marriage. Gays would be allowed to marry. They would just have to marry someone of the opposite sex. No discrimination there. Homosexuality is NOT an “immutable characteristic” in terms of constitutional law. Thus discrimination against someone due to their non-immutable characteristic is not unconstitutional. Its more about the government endorsing the “gold standard” for raising families and future citizens. The “gold standard” is and has always been a man and a woman married and raising their children. Not to say other methods of child rearing don’t produce good citizens. Its just not the “gold standard.” Government has an interest in recognizing and endorsing the “gold standard” to the exclusion of others.
ggreen
Yeah “gold standard” like the Lohans and the Hiltons. Not to mention the Trumps and the Gabors or Newt Gignrich and other serial marriers. Keep your tired ass morals and stinky cult out of my life.

I think your magic underwear has a big brown stain on it.
Yes on 8: Protect marriage
“out of my life.” Ggreen I’m not trying to interfere in your “life.” You are free to live your life as you wish. I’m just trying to preserve the sanctity of the institution, marriage between a man and a woman, which has formed the foundation of healthy societies for thousands of years. Your prior posts show a clear disdain for religion. If this is the case why do want to become “married,” which is certainly a religous institution. As a “domestic partner” you have all the rights. Why the need to be “married.” Ultimately its not about the rights though is it? Its about society validating your lifestyle right? I teach my children to have love and respect for all people. Its just not in societies interest to suggest that anything other the marriage between a man and woman is the ideal for having and raising children. Certainly there are many dysfunctional marriages. But as a whole traditional marriage has formed the foundation for a healthy society. You are free to live your life as you wish. Just don’t ask society to destroy its foundational institutions, marriage and the traditional family, to validate feelings of inadequacy you may feel if you and your same sex domestic partner aren’t “married” as opposed to domestic partners with all the same rights.

The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is a cult that ought to be outlawed and are not even true Americans because Joseph Smith was killed because he tried taking over America. Morons, ah Mormans are just another pagan religion whose crazy ideas are destroying America and eroding the civil rights of minorities. Everyone who believes in civil rights should picket Moron, ah Morman churches nation-wide every week for the next eight years and let them know they are not welcomed in a democratic society and should pack up and move to Iran as they are looking for a few “good” men and women.
Anyone who believes in this hogwash needs to go soak their heads in a toilet bowl for a week.

@Yes on 8: Protect marriage: You’ve obviously SICK! SICK! SICK!
Since when is marriage a religious thing? Its a civil thing to do with rights, civil rights. You sound exactly like a Muslim or one of Hitler’s Jew haters. How would you like someone to take away your civil rights to marry, to drive a car, to go to a park or choose the school to send your children? Where do you come off that same sex marriage will destroy families? Are you sick? Are you on meds? Are you a Muslim or into witchcraft? I know you are no Christian because a true Christian would never say these things you’ve saying because God does not hate nor condemn his creation nor deny them their equal rights. So if you are not a Christian you’ve either a Muslim, a pagan, a Hindu or an Atheist.
