Morning Aural: Billie Holiday

Another rain filled Monday here in New York. While we’d love to jump off the walls to some new dance jam, we’re drawn to the past for today’s Morning Aural. Above you’ll see – and hear! – Billie Holiday singing her famous anti-racism tune, “Strange Fruit”. After the jump, a grainy but beautiful rendition of “God Bless The Child” and “Now Baby”. We’ve also thrown in “The Blues are Brewing” just for good measure.

Let these kids worship the media whores & disco divas du jour — this is where serious pop singing begins. Billie is still magic.
