Morning Aural: Dire Straits

British band Dire Straits burst onto the late-seventies scene with this track, "Sultans of Swingtown," one of our favorite tracks in the history of the universe.

I think you mean Sultans of Swing. My dad introduced me to this rocking band.

Oh, you mean the band with the lyrics, "that little faggot with the earring and the makeup" on the song, "Money for Nothing". Mark Knopfler was attempting to write a song in the character of a blue-collar guy. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't get it and just enjoyed using the word as they sang along to the radio.
