Morning Aural: Erykah Badu

We haven’t bought an Erykah Badu album since her debut, Baduizm, but we’re beginning to regret our aural ignorance. The singer will soon release her latest, the exhaustingly entitled New Amerykah Part One (4th World War), which includes this track, “Honey”.

And, as you can guess by the inclusion, we’re eating it up.

The cd is as brilliant today, as it was when I bought it 2 weeks ago.

Brilliant video. The CD certainly doesn’t “suck-exclamation-point-times-four,” it’s really quite well done.

if only every morning began with Badu. The world would be alittle bit brighter. LOVE her.

I’m a huge fan of Erykah ever since I saw her make her entrance onto stage in her gigantic head wrap, used retro purses, and a stick of incense! She changes a bit with each album and is NOT a pop star, rather someone who pushes herself as an artist. The lyrics can be really gloomy on this CD and it’s got lots to say about politics and society. Not necessarily for the weak, or people who love Honey, the single. It isn’t really representative of the whole CD.
