Morning Aural: Mama Cass
Do It Loud, Do It Proud! (Homie)

RIP Cass Elliot. The late, great singer made a nickname for herself in the Mamas and The Papas, but really soared after the quintet called it quits.

Elliot went on to release nine successful albums, including 1969's Bubblegum, Lemonade and Something for Mama on which she sings Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil classic anthem, "Make Your Own Kind of Music". A perfect song for the beginning of NYC Pride Week, no?

We've also included "New World Coming," after the jump. Self-fulfilling prophecy, anyone?

So, if The Mamas and The Papas were a quintet, then I guess Destiny's Child was a…sextet?
