Morning Aural: Monie Love

How many of you remember early-90s hip-hopstress Monie Love? Probably not too many, which is a damn shame. Get acquainted with the singer's 1990 jam, "It's A Shame (My Sister)."

What… I loved Monie Love. Thanks for the flash back. It has put a smile on my face this morning.

Thanks for reminding me. I used to love this song. Didn't she do "Ladies First" with Queen Latifah?

It's a shame, how she messed around with our hearts. Her first album was great. She rapped with rumoured lesbians: Queen Latifah, Ultra Nate, Adeva, and Whitney Houston, and refused to wear make-up. Then, she put on the make-up and put out a lame second album. I hated that corny song "Born 2 B.R.E.E.D." A few years ago she was a rap DJ/radio personality in Philadelphia and proclaimed that hip-hop is dead. She is on My Space.
