I’m sitting here at the office with tears in my eyes while my dad has spent the last two nights with his father watching him die. Neil’s work always speaks to me. I’m going to play “Fucking Up” just for myself now.

Must be a European audience, no disrespectful jackasses like you’d have in the U.S.

Was there a time when Americans were not jackasses?

L, you are now displaying what you are accusing Americans of…disrespect to Neil Young. This is a great, classic song, can we honor it with more respectful responses? Please?

Actually yes L, ever since European metal bands toured America to get a respite from the disrespectful Euro crowds. Young himself, a Canadian citizen, has said that he’s been in the U.S. so long, he might as well vote. I seem to recall his entire catalogue embracing the American story, not particularly Europe’s. And musicians are always shocked at the veracity of Detroit’s fans. It’s something to be marveled.

Mr. Young’s comments before beginning indicate he is not in North America. The audience is unusually quiet and well-behaved during the performance, and I praise them for that. I have lived in the the U.S. for 49 years, so I know my musical history and I know jackass behavior as well. And finally, are the Svedka ad and Bravo TV ad suitably reverential for you all? Is it respectful to Neil Young? Is he getting any of the revenue?
