Penny McLean shot to disco super stardom with her band, Silver Convention. Apparently the success went to her head, because McLean broke off to pursue a short-lived solo career. That career’s most often remembered for its treasured single, “Lady Bump”. And, yes, McLean’s meant to be taken seriously.
