Morning Aural: The Cave Singers

Those of you who like good old fashioned American folk music won’t be disappointed by Seattle-based The Cave Singers. Though the trio hasn’t had any formal training – nor do any of them profess to love the genre – their debut single, “Dancing On Our Graves,” captures the macabre longing and moral perplexity of American nostalgia.

Record label Matador Records concurs: “It’s sparse, melodic, creepy, and alluring, like the widow mourning graveside in Johnny Cash’s ‘Long Black Veil’.” Even if you’re not into folk, we definitely suggest you check out director Mike Ott’s disturbing video.
