Finally!!! Some real beaf-cake! Is this why we are gay – because we like men…not the boys that often get parade around here? And those lips….mmmmmm…. great way to start the weekend.

It’s so strange how these Morning Goods and the responses to them constantly bring up how neurotically obsessed gay men are with ‘masculinity’ or at least with appearing as ‘masculine’ as possible. It seems so desperate.

I mean… we all have our peculiar tastes, I guess, but seriously… I rarely find the “models” featured on Queerty all that attractive. None of them look remotely like anyone I have ever met (or will meet) in person, and to the person above who huffed “Finally! Some beefcake!,” I have to say… are you effing kidding me??! The models here are ALL beefcake… all chiseled, muscled, unrealistic bodies… (unrealistic, that is, for real people, with real jobs, and real hobbies, and real responsibilities, and real lives). If all you care about is your body and your appearance, then yes, you too can be a Queerty model. Myself, I prefer lean men with normal bodies, and I happen to be quite fond of men with body hair, which Queerty NEVER posts. Not that the models are here to please me personally. They’re not. It’s just that… eh… I could actually do without them being posted at all.

Nope, I’m not kidding you. I think very few models qualify as “beefcake”. We all have muscles and just because someone doesn’t eat and has a lean body doesn’t make them “muscular” in my opinion. So many models have boy bodies that look good in clothes but not so much out of them (again, I realize some people really like lean guys, just not me). As to Charles point, why are you surprised that gay men like masculinity? By definition gay men are attracted to men, so traditional male qualities are generally revered. There is nothing desperate about that.

…And yes, I realize I’m on my soap box today, but I think its more than a little unkind to say these people don’t have reali lives, real jobs, etc. I myself work 60-70 hours a week in health care, hit the gym for about 20 hours a week, have a happy and successful family life full of responsitibility and still have time to do things with friends and hobbies. Just because someone makes taking care of themselves a high priority doesn’t mean they don’t have a real life.

…Last one – I totally agree with you Andrew about the body hair part though. Smooth guys are great too, but there is something to be said for a handome hairy guy. Like the guy in this photo would look amazing with some chest hair!

Happy Halloween everyone!

That’s a lot of opinion about the male form for a Friday. I just think men in general are attractive. This is another one.

No. 16 · Really?

Wow Adam, we are all impressed by your type-A, workaholic, unrealistic attitudes about life and body! First of all, this model clearly uses steroids, so I don’t know how much he really cares about his body in the long-term. As for you, between all that work, gym time, and sleep (let’s be generous and say you get eight hours of sleep a night, because you need rest if you are going to see gains from the gym), that leaves about four hours of unstructured leisure time. What kind of social life/hobbies can you possibly have? Unless your hobby is crystal meth, I’m not buying what you’re selling here. (If you are indeed on tina, it would eliminate the need for sleep, extending your leisure time by 40 hours a week, plenty of time to have unprotected sex with multiple partners. GOOD WORK!)

He could have done steroids, I know a lot of guys that have and made simliar (or larger) gains. But depending on his genetic make-up I think there is a high probability he did not. He has very natural and impressive looking development for a mesomorphic body type.

I love how people like to cut guys that accomplish things like this down to steroid/tina using junkies who are sexually irresponsible living friviouls, point-less lives. So judgmental and so off-base. Classic defense mechanism. (and unless you need to waste away infront of the TV for hours each day, 4-5 hours of free time per day…it’s a lot).

People who accomplish a lot in their lives, whether it be physicall like Sean or something else should be appluaded for their dedication and achievment. Not cut down to worthless people who have some obsseive defect to make you feel better for accomplishing less.

“It’s so strange how these Morning Goods and the responses to them constantly bring up how neurotically obsessed gay men are with ‘masculinity’ or at least with appearing as ‘masculine’ as possible. It seems so desperate.”

I completely agree. It’s desperate and pretty sad too. As if one can actually “see” masculinity (whatever that is) in a still photograph. Body hair, chiseled abs,and tree trunk thighs don’t always equal “butch”….whatever that is.

As far as this guy goes, I would worship him from head to toe, regardless of whether he uses roids or has a purse hanging from his mouth.

Why the knee-jerk assumption of steroid abuse when a man looks like this? “Clearly”? WTF? Do you know the guy? Have you seen him use them? Believe me, when you see bitch tits and zits you can safely assume some sort of hormonal imbalance is going on, whether chemically-enhanced or otherwise. There is none of that here. I know plenty of guys better built than this who have never touched drugs of any kind. What kind of mind just assumes that kind of sh*t automatically?

Hot. I would love to see a little body hair on him, though.

I’d melt right out of this chair if he had a nice little coat of chest fur + a happy trail.

These guys are great looking.

What do they do? I mean…they are supporting themselves modeling are they? Not like runway or anything? And they are not porn stars, right?

So are they students that just let their pictures get taken for fun, or bartenders or something?

I want to know their stories!

I like some of the pretty boys a lot and I like some of the hunks a lot, like guy. Some people have a “type” but not me. I find a wide range of men to be hot. Does that make me a slut?

Can’t really agree to much with Andrew on the point about featuring ordinary looking people.
take pictures on the street. A lot of people who have great bodies work etc.
The point here is presenting exceptional people who we don’t get to see every day. Kind of like going to a Museum to see good art instead of a grade school class.
I’m not terribly atracted to someone this bulked up, but he’s not unlike a lot of football players etc.
I’d prefer sombody who I can roll over ; not be rolled over by and manhandled.

Holy Shit, that’s a hot man. If he looks that sexy with clothes on…..When I 1st saw him I thought he was a guy named Landon from MTV’s The Real World Philly who was a hottie too.

For what it’s worth: I know Sean, and have worked out with him at the gym a few times. He’s a nice, straight guy. No steroids, either — that’s some serious sports conditioning, though.

He took these pics because he was considering getting into modeling. Not a porn star.

Holy cow! look at the guys frame: that’s mainly just genetics. Quit trying to dream up excuses to not move your body faster a few hours a weak. Would it be nice to have a body that your partner gets excited about; if you just ran a ways you would live ten years longer.

It’s all in your head. How much time do you spend gorging and being a couch potatoe?

M Shane you are totally right about all this being in our heads.

Forgive me for using myself as an example (being just no modest!), but a do have sort of a belly and would love to be lise sean (or any other model featuredo ver the least year that I follow qeerty). And my bf likes me the way I am now, not like Sean (all due respect!)

But you know.. I still would love to get rid of all the fat I have. In fact, I am going on a diet right now….

Ah well, to the hell with all this! Moaners will kepp on moaning, am i right?
