Morrison’s ‘Beloved’ Barack
Former Clintonite author Toni Morrison endorsed Barack Obama: “In addition to keen intelligence, integrity and a rare authenticity, you exhibit something that has nothing to do with age, experience, race or gender and something I don’t see in other candidates…”
Whatever. While her place in American literature is secure, I really wish that more people who know her, have had to work with her, and who have had the misfortune to just meet her, would open up about how regularly awful a person Toni Morrision is. One of the rudest and most self-important people I’ve ever encountered. Maybe it’s the Oprah/ Streisand complex–starting out sincere enough, but then the head expandsuntil it eats the room . . . bleah. So, um, yeah: Obama. Whatever, lady.
I think we can thank Nobel and Winfrey for the current size of Morrison’s head…
