What a great letter. Even the most simple minded person could understand it. Bravo!
Maybe mothers and fathers across the country should send whats-her-name (I just can’t) tens of thousands of similar letters, and cc the local newspaper.
I love to hear you-know-who’s response, too.

I have a new theory on the Palin pick. I’m guessing that McCain really wanted to pick Joe Lieberman, that’s what the pundits seem to think. I think he could also have easily gone with someone like Charlie Crist or Tom Ridge. His party or handlers wouldn’t let him choose any of those guys though because of their Pro-Choice stance or whatever.

So here’s McCain being forced by the same assholes who screwed him over 8 years ago to pick someone he doesn’t really want or could really help him to win. He decides at that point to screw them right back. I can imagine his thinking, “If I’m going down because of these holier-than-thou jerks, I’m going to take them with me!” He then pick Palin, who is adored by the religious right and has become their new standard bearer.

What they didn’t count on was her utter lack of intelligence or ability to connect with anyone that isn’t already in their camp. Sarah Palin spells the end of the religious right as a powerful political force. They have propelled her to “star” status within their party and will be saddled with her inept leadership until her future failed presidential run.

Perhaps John was thinking “Country First” when he chose her. He imagines a country without the influence of right-wing religious nuts and is willing to take the fall to get it accomplished.

What would have an effect?

Whoever becomes surgeon general in the next administration needs to make a definitive statement on the origin of sexuality. Much like C. Everrett Coop during the Reagan administration.

Sarah Palin is a cancer on the Republican party. Her Hitleresque talents are a threat to our country’s values. She speaks for a strident minority, the way Hitler did, and she would use any power she gets to get more. I can easily see her forcing homosexuals to wear pink triangles when they venture out in public — her pastor might tell her its God’s will. That would be enough for her.

If McCain had really wanted to or thought he could win he wouldn’t have allowed the crackpot wing of his party to force her on him. He may have had a brief window of opportunity to dump her, but its too late.

I think he’s decided to go down with the ship, which at 72 years young is not that tough of a decision (his old bones must ache).

On the bright side, Bush has fewer than 100 days left in office!

God I love mothers, parents, FAMILY, like this. Willing to stand up against the zealots and close-minded. Why can’t this be my mom or ANYONE in my family who thinks being gay is either a choice or something that could have been avoided had I not watched so much Laverne and Shirley. Seriously, my mother still asks my friends after 20 years of me being out to her, if I have still decided to be gay or if I’ve gone back to being straight yet. Until then she doesn’t want to hear from me, yet this woman who wrote such an awesome letter…I’m going to ask her to adopt me.

Right on mom Triveri! Palin needs to hear from moms like her who have GLBT sons and daughters.
I’m sure the more she hears from them she will come to fully understand that ours is not a choice and she will become a great ally of ours.

This is a letter my mother would write! I think that more parents, friends, co-workers, and supporters of BiGLBT people need to come out like this.

A target is only an easy target if there is nothing else in the way of hitting it. Cunts like this tyrant from the tundra need to be told THEY’RE WRONG. They’re evil. They’re abnormal.

But Marco, doesn’t she have many friends in her life who have chosen to be gay. While that isn’t a choice she would make, she doesn’t think that choice should prevent someone from making a hospital visit. She also doesn’t have a problem if people choose to be in a gay relationship, so long as that relationship doesn’t resemble marriage. Also, she said science should be taught in science class, just not in biology, health, or sex education class.

I saw Kathy Griffin last night and she summed it up the best, I think. She said it all in two little words, “Dumb Cunt!”

Sarah Palin, who believes in speaking in tongues, hunting for witches, teaching creationism, and having 14 year-olds give birth to incest rape babies is living in the 19th Century. She is a documented liar (her response to the Troopergate ruling), so just because she says she “tolerates” the gays doesn’t mean she will. One simply needs to look at her extreme religious beliefs to find out who Sarah Palin is.

And she ain’t no friend of ours.
