BOOGIE NIGHT

MTV Holding World Longest Dance Party—To Benefit LGBT Youth

The O Music Awards, MTV’s Web awards show, is going to try to make history on Halloween by hosting the world’s longest dance party, a 55-plus-hour charity dance-a-thon, with donations going to GLSEN, It Gets Better, HRC, GLAAD and the It Gets Better Campaign. The hope is the stunt will raise money—and awareness—for the plight of queer youth.  The awards show—which offers categories like Best Vintage Viral Video, Must-Follow Twitter Feed, Best Artist With a Cameraphone, Best Web-Born Artist and “Oops! I Did It Online” (for oversharing celebs like Sinead O’Connor and T-Pain)—starts at 11:30pm on October 31. The dance event starts earlier, on October 29, at Los Angeles’ Roxy Theatre.

The O Music Awards 2 will stream on October 31 on OMusicAwards.com, MTV.com, VH1.com, CMT.com, LogoTV.com and MTVHive.com.
