The demographic of the average Academy member is white, male, 60+ years old. It’s not difficult to guess who/what will win when you put yourself in the mindset accordingly. The Oscars do not reward the best of the year, it just acknowledges who a bunch of white, male 60+ year old guys think was the best, it also confirms why Brokeback Mountain never stood a chance for Best Picture.
