National Organization for Marriage’s $500k Threat to New York Republicans

The National Organization for Marriage remains as well funded as ever! With $1.5 million for a silly ad campaign promoting opposite marriage, NOM is now offering $500,000 to fund a primary election campaign against any New York State Republican legislator who dares vote for same-sex marriage.

Unfortunately if they are (as rumoured) a front for the Mormon church $500K per enlightened Repug won’t be hard to find. Still, it’s an excellent way to drain their coffers – and if it can be proven that NOM is an LDS front then I’m sure the IRS would take an intense interest since religious groups are banned from endorsing political candidates…

Those morons would have a very hard time coming up with that kind of money with out some sugar daddy like the Mormons or Asshole Ahmanson and neither of those folks can’t afford anymore bad PR.

They’re actually running quite low on religious-nut cash. Many Mormons donated their life savings and kids’ college funds to Proposition 8.

Another reason to oppose bailouts — why should gay people be taxed to replenish the coffers of bigots who blow their life savings on attacking us?

Incidentally, the more time NOM spends in New York, the more time those of us in Pennsylvania and New Jersey will have to put them on the defensive. And we’re not without resources ourselves.
