New Music: Releases From Rihanna, Bjork. Plus: Free Downloads From Liquid Diet

“We Found Love,” Rihanna
Should a new Rihanna single inspire the same kind of excitement as a new track from Gaga or Britney? I’m not sure that’s a philosophical discussion I really want to get into. Riri’s not exactly rarified; I don’t know what the exact numbers are, but doesn’t it seem like not a month hasn’t gone by since 2005 that didn’t bring some new single or guest appearance? It’s kind of ironic she sings “What’s My Name?”—we haven’t had time to forget it!

Rih’s latest single, “We Found Love,” hit iTunes last week and it features DJ/producer Calvin Harris (Kylie Minogue’s X,  Dizzee Rascal’s “Dance wiv Me”), which accounts for the whole rave/gay dance anthem vibe. Like, this could have been release as a Calvin Harris track featuring guest vocals by Rihanna and been a staple in Fire Island or P-Town all summer. Expect to hear it over and over in the clubs in the weeks leading up to her next album’s release in November.

“Hand Dance,” Liquid Diet

And have you heard about Liquid Diet? No, it’s not some kind of master cleanse, it’s the new pansexual electro pop trio from the twisted minds of Whore’s Mascara. They’ve just released the video for their new single, “Hand Dance.”

Yeah, they’re just full of sexual innuendos and double entendre.

To celebrate their debut, Liquid Diet is offering Queerty readers a free download of their cover of George Michael’s “Father Figure,” along with “Hand Dance” and bonus track “Nude.”

Yep, that’s three free downloads. Say “thank you” to the nice music people.
