While making an appearance on Arsenio this week (yes, that’s still on), legendary former NFL player Deion Sanders admitted that — GASP! — he has played with gay players.
In fact, gays have been on every team that he’s played for.
While we could’ve done without the fact that Sanders claims to “neither condone nor condemn” gays and the fact that homosexuality is mentioned in comparison to drug and alcohol abusers, the interview is definitely supportive of newly out NFL hopeful Michael Sam.
The delivery was a bit awkward, but the message was clear: Michael Sam and the gays that will undoubtedly follow in the NFL have an ally in Deion Sanders.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
We just can’t wait for the day when there are enough openly gay players in the NFL to have a team of their own.

Yes Queerty, the Arsenio Hall show is still on and has been picked up for another season. I prefer his kind of comedy as opposed to some of the other late night talk show hosts and their corny antics.
Anyway, for his comments regarding Sam, I’m glad he is supportive.

Drunks? Drug addicts?… He has issues, guess that gay player was him.

@Respect4all:
Yeah that was all kinds of wrong. I think he meant well like when some white people say to a well spoken black person “your’re so articulate” not realizing its actually a slap in the face
MK Ultra
He can fck himself.
Drug addicts and alcoholics?
I fail to see how that extremist hate group talking point is in any way supportive…
boring
There’s already a team made up entirely of gay people. They’re called the Miami Dolphins.
(Note: I know absolutely nothing about Football, I just wanted to go for the obvious joke and picked a random team)
