Gay media mogul Nick Denton’s getting back to his Gawker roots. NY Times reports that Denton will be filling in as his flagship website’s managing editor:
Mr. Denton…will become the managing editor, at least on a temporary basis, of the prominent New York media blog on Jan. 2, according to three employees who requested anonymity because the move has not been announced. Asked about the new position, Mr. Denton declined to comment.
The decision may indicate Mr. Denton’s desire to have a more direct role in his first blog. On Nov. 30, immediately after three of Gawker’s top editors quit, Gawker published a job listing for a managing editor.
Denton’s apparently keen on steering his site toward news-oriented relevancy. Good luck, Denton!
