Nightmare Calls…

A California-based reader sent us this note: "Had a voice mail on my home phone tonight from someone urging me to vote for Prop 8. The phone number was a Salt Lake City-area number (Clearfield, UT). The caller didn't sound very polished (he sounded old and rambling), so I'm guessing the church is rounding up the troops for a last-minute phone blitz. Given I'm a registered Democrat and live in a pretty liberal ZIP code, it doesn't seem like they're bothering/smart enough to target swing voters."

WOW, if anyone ever phoned me or came to my door to try to swing my vote, they would be very sorry.

I wouldn't stand for that and I would let them know how I truly felt about it.

Ugh…I used to live in Clearfield. It's like the redneck Stepford.

Thank you for the pic of Freddy's tongue coming outta that phone to slip one to Nancy. The pic pretty much sums up the feeling behind those calls.

Those phone calls mean that they have time to target area's where they know there is not much support.

Prop 8 folks are not dumb. They have professionals working their strategy. If they have time to assign a guy from Utah to call a liberal zip code then they have excess volunteers who will also show up in state to drive old people to the polls, help black ministers get out the vote, and press hard all the way around.

This thing passes with a 55% margin…

And big deal, gays should be about liberty not some left wing social agenda.. –
