No Thieving Free Papers

arnold%3Aconan.jpg

For those of you who care, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the beloved Governor of California who stole our young gay hearts as “Conan”, signed a bill today making it illegal to take more than 25 copies of free papers “for reasons other than reading them,” says The San-Francisco Chronicle.

Aside from college papers, this law effects gay publications. Like anyone actually reads Just Us Boys.

I’m not sure I understand what the problem is. I mean, I’m all for not making mountains out of molehills, especially with regards to “punishable offenses,” but this law seems to be protecting free speech. It appears that the law would most affect people who took whole stacks of free papers with the intention of preventing them from being read. I mean, what’s wrong with trying to discourage some hater who decides to toss a stack of queer rags in the trash?
