Queerty is better as a member
question: how in the world is Marriage anything like slavery? last time I checked, when you marry someone you don’t take ownership of them, unless you’re following the oldest tradition of marriage in the Bible
A quick message to NOM….
The papers in which you describe your strategy to continually try to inject a racial issue into the gay rights fight were all found and reported on.
So these desperately bad attempts are obvious. Your own paperwork said that you would try to do this. Your strategy was blown and now you just look silly.
Oh, by the way, Multiple founding members have family ties to leadership in the Mormon Church…considering you do not have many memebers where is all your money coming from again?
Not equatable by a long shot, but the parallel does exist…. it’s just that NOM has the sides reversed :)
Hahahahaha!!! Swing and a miss, NOM. You very nearly had a cogent argument, but for one glaring error. You compared yourselves to the abolitionists as opposed to the slave holders. Anyone who wasn’t too busy banging their girlfriend or getting high to attend US History in high school could tell you that the arguments supporting “traditional marriage” are much more in line with those of the slave holders (tradition, religion, states’ rights, etc) than with those of the abolitionists (human dignity, equality, etc).
I almost wish I could get into one of these fundamentalists’ heads, just so I could understand the twisted logic that could lead someone to believe that their current attempts to limit the freedoms of their fellow citizens could be paralleled with people who worked tirelessy, endangering themselves and their loved ones with their “radical” notions, to free an entire race from slavery.
But then I fear I’d wake up screaming every night for rest of my life.
Sounds like NOM is getting desperate.
