Yesterday afternoon the so-called National Organization for Marriage sent an “emergency alert” to its donors claiming that the “Senate liberals” were planning on attaching an amendment to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act onto a “must pass” Defense Authorization Bill. It sounds good, except that it was a demonstrable lie.
The Human Rights Campaign’s Fred Sainz basically said that considering the recent wave of LGBT electoral victories and rulings against NOM’s refusal to disclose donors, “NOM needs to give [donors] a red herring that equals hope or shows that they are working on something no matter how big of a lie it is.” Basically.

Until NOM is forced to give up the names on its donor list, they will continue to have those misguided misoginistic people sending them money. NOM is dishonest, hate filled, and one of the great problems with the advancement of LGBT rights. It is past time they were shut down!
