What the Catholic Church teaches is very simple, that they can be saved, but they have to live a life of chastity — and that God does want them to be saved. In fact, their same-sex attraction can be their personal path to holiness. That can be the thing that gets them to Heaven: dealing with that, dealing with it in a good, and decent, and wholesome way.”
—Jennifer Roback Morse, president of The National Organization For Marriage’s Ruth Institute at a recent NOM conference.

Whenever you post about this woman please remind people that all her experience is in economics. All that Hoover Institute and the other places of note where she’s worked, it was as a econ analyst. She has no education in any appropriate area to be making the claims she does. And, finally, she’s just a wingnut working out of her house in a downmarket San Diego-area suburb.

It is unfortunate that her parents did not deal with their horny feelings by dealing with it in a “good, decent, and wholesome way” themselves—– by practicing celibacy. Then we would have all been spared this ridiculous rhetoric.

That’s funny. I advocate for life-long silence from her. I’m not going to get my wish, and neither is she.

The way to deal w/being gay in a good, decent, wholesome way is to find a loving, committed relationship – not like a life of self hatred and celibacy bc of widespread ignorance like this woman is spewing. Its really quite simple, yet so complicated bc of idiots like this woman. Trying to stop gay marriage from happening, like its going to stop people from being gay. All stopping gay marriage does is make gay peoples lives harder…and thats what they ultimately want. They dont want whats best for gay people.

What a selfish thing to demand of others.
How about a trade? One natural, normal human function for another.
I’ll stop having gay sex, if she, and everybody like her, stops breathing.
Ps- I’m not really gonna stop having gay sex.

Oh Jennifer… and I mean this in the most loving dear way…. blow me.

You mean all I have to do is never have a loving, meaningful sexual relationship with my partner, and I get in to heaven?
Give up sex altogether in this life, for a pair of wings to live in the clouds for eternity with some hairy daddy and his ripped son… Do I get laid once I get there?

Why are Christians so PROUDLY stupid?
I mean cover your tracks a lil’ better Xtians.
Their new tactic campaigning is getting gays to not have relationships and relations? Good luck with that. These people are literally losing their sh-t! I mean the wheels are coming off right before our eyes.

Love Christians judging left and right about gay rights and gay tv shows, and marriage equality. Geez, they really unhappy with their lives so they need to open their mouth to save our community.I can’t tolerate stupidity especially those type of people.

It’s actually a good sign, if you ask me.
For years, Morse has been one of those frumpy, hyper-religious, straights-only marriage “advocates” who would give testimonies or speeches to whomever would listen to her, even if it was a speech to five people standing outside of a tour bus (Youtube NOMTourTracker)…
…And even SHE is backing off the “pray away the gay” meme. Like Alan Chambers, she’s shifting her message to: “Okay, FINE. Be gay. Just don’t sleep with anybody of the same gender. And make sure you marry someone of the opposite sex!”
It may not seem like a big distinction, but it wasn’t that long ago that Morse, Chambers, John Smid et al were pounding the “YOU CAN CHANGE!” piano key over and over and over.
That clearly doesn’t work anymore, and it shows: a) The culture is shifting to wider and wider acceptance of the LGBT community in real-time, wider than Larry Craig’s stance; b) The anti-equality gnomes know they’re fast losing relevance and probably resources as well.
NOM’s “Dump Starbucks” and “Dump General Mills” fundraising campaigns were dismal FAILURES all across the board. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re fundraising was DOWN this year, even with so much marriage equality activity happening all across the country (MN, NC, WA, ME, MD, Prop 8 and DOMA in federal court, etc.).
So I say it’s another nail in the coffin of the anti-equality movement. Shouldn’t be that many more years left before they’re gone for good.

Here’s some neat stuff from the “Book” —
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed……Ecclesiastes 4:9
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble…..Ecclesiastes 4:10
Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone?……Ecclesiastes 4:11
The whole point of these verses of different translations is to assert without argument that two people “together” are better off than being alone.
Being gay and having a special friend or lover is just too much fun and happiness to be ignored for religious reasons.
