On July 11th, a man named Levi Aron lured eight-year-old Leiby Kletzky into his car. He the proceeded to drug, smother, and dismember the child using three different carving knives and then stored the kid’s feet in his fridge. At least, this is the “official” version of the crime. But if you ask Rabbi Yehuda Levin, this gruesome murder happened because the Jewish Orthodox community did nothing to stop marriage equality in New York!
Did we mention that The National Organization of Marriage is buddies with this guy?
Here’s the most odious quote from his video (translated from the 7:00 mark):
Why was this [death of Kletzky] allowed to happen? Let’s think about it. If we go back to the cause, the effect was he was the victim, but the cause was a Jew [Yiddish] that the evil will come to destroy you within your midst. If it would have been a Gentile, people would be able to say, ‘oh this is from the secular society.’ But this is not from the secular society. This is, for too long we have been turning our cheek, we have been turning away and ignoring the agenda of the [Yiddish] — first they wanted rights, then they wanted adoption, they wanted special protections, and ultimately they wanted marriage — and we all know that we did precious little. If those three or four thousand people, at the direction of their leaders and their common sense, would have come out…against the marriage, against this final nail in the coffin of morality…maybe we wouldn’t have had to had this episode…replay itself.
“This came in the very aftermath of the marriage bill, my dear friends, and not doing anything.
Um… we’re pretty sure an actual person and not an amorphous concept of “immorality” slayed that little boy. In fact, we’re almost 100% sure the murderer was straight. Not that it matters to NOM or the Rabbi.
NOM invited Rabbi Yehuda to join them at a protest against New York marriage equality shortly before the vote. That’s right, he’s NOM’s Jewish friend, he has used a child’s murder to vilify the gays (very Godly), and NOM hasn’t said a single word against him.
In fact, this seems to be NOM’s strategy of late. They let their associates say horrendously anti-gay things and then paint themselves as the kinder moderates, saying “Of course we don’t advocate violence against gay people. We’re against that. Some people on both sides get very emotional about this issue and say things they don’t quite mean. Even I have had to endure personal attacks and physical threats from those who disagree with me. But we want a civil debate.”
It’s kinda like when George Dubya Bush denounced the despicable Swiftboat Veterans for Truth ad against John Kerry all the while knowing that it effectively turned people against his opponent on his behalf. NOM maintains the aura of cleanliness while a few select Jewish and Catholic cronies scare up “minority” crowds with speech that would completely discredit NOM.
But we all know NOM is not really so different from these “kill gays” types.
