The National Organization for Marriage is celebrating Independence Day the only way they know how: By continuing to demonize the LGBT community, of course! You think these people would give themselves a day off every now and then.
In a message posted to the NOM blog last night, Brian Brown used some hardcore americana to remind supporters that theyâre being attacked by homosexuals, marginalized by the government, and theyâre going to need a ton of money to sort it all out.
Tomorrow as we celebrate Independence Day, weâre reminded of how richly blessed America has been. Weâre a republic founded on the principles of religious liberty, freedom and democracy, endowed by our Creator with inalienable rights. Weâre a nation where citizen rights come from God, not from government, and where the people are sovereign, not politicians or judges.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
But those principles are under siege, by the culture, by our federal government and, increasingly, by the US Supreme Court. We need your help to fight to preserve Americaâs founding principles such as religious liberty which is greatly at risk wherever marriage is redefined.
âŠ
If we do not fight back against these governmental attacks on our fundamental right to act in the public square in support of the truth of marriage as God created it, then none of our cherished liberties and rights are safe.
Please give generously so that we have the resources necessary to lead this incredibly important fight for religious liberty and the truth of marriage.
Nothing says âAmericaâ quite like bigotry and begging for money, so cheers to you, NOM! Just donât fill your Solo cup up with too much Haterade.

Brian, I don’t have to choose one over the other. I can, will and do honour both but for different reasons.
You’re a poor excuse for a xtian, let alone a man. I feel sorry for you that you’ve so much hatred in your heart and I pity a child of yours if they sort out they’re gay. The first question in their mind will be “why does daddy hate me?” That’s sad!

Brown uses some linguistic sleight of hand to obscure the truth from his readers and, no doubt, himself. He says “the people are sovereign,” but that, the nation’s principles “are under siege by the culture.”
What is the culture if not the people? The people are the culture and the culture is the people. The culture is changing because people are changing and the law is changing because the culture is changing.
Yes, the people are sovereign. For Mr. Brown to prevail, he has to stop them from being so.

Wow. That’s a blow job giving mouth if I’ve ever seen one.

@Jared MacBride: BEST. comment. ever.

A beautiful image, spoiled by the lie built into the question.

I hope that his supporters give generously. At this time, I don’t think they have a snowball’s chance of survival. Might as well waste as much money as they can. At least Exodus International gave it up, albeit a bit late in the game.
Jared, I think you may be onto something. đ

The more children a set of parents have, the greater the chances that towards the end of the brood, the children will be gay, due to hormonal changes in the mother, etc. Nature’s built in population control? 60 Minutes, gay twins, fascinating.

“Weâre a nation where citizen rights come from God, not from government, and where the people are sovereign, not politicians or judges”. WRONG!!! Our rights are enshrined in the constitution, which come from government. These right are the same for everyone, regardless of sex, religious affiliation, race, national origin, and sexual orientation. You can go to Washington and SEE the constitution, lay your hands on the constitution (if allowed to do so), smell it, taste it, hear it. Within all your senses you know it is there. You cannot say the same for GOD. We have judges to interpret the constitution, not to interpret the bible. Individuals interpret the Bible, Koran,
The Kitab-i-Aqdas of BahĂĄâuâllĂĄh, The Hindu Vedas, The Avestas of Zarathustra, The Adi-Granth of the Sikhs
The Mahabarataâs Bhagavad-Gita, The Urantia book, et al.

The title “Douche of the Week” confuses me. Aren’t you supposed to feel and be clean after a douche? This guy makes me feel like I’ve been swimming in a mud hole.
ToxicLittleQueen
Douches are outdated, unnecessary and a good way to get an infection- pretty apt descriptors for Mr.Brown as well.

But he didn’t wish us a happy fourth of july. He is incapable of being that kind to gay people.
