Not Every Religious Leader in D.C. Opposes Marriage Rights

“A diverse coalition of more than 100 clergy gathered in a Southeast Washington church [Tuesday] to show their support for same-sex marriages in the District. ‘We declare that our faith calls us to affirm marriage equality for loving, same-sex couples,’ said the Rev. Dennis Wiley, pastor of the Covenant Baptist Church, as he stood in the pulpit of his church before religious leaders from all eight wards of the city.” [WaPo]

It’s about time this happened. It’s important to have some Baptists in there, not just the Episcopals and Jews.

Any religious gathering in support of gay marriage is a good thing, whether or not they are concidered the “Real” religions. Society notices these things and thus opinions start to change because of them. Lets keep our hopes high and be greatful for the changes that come our way.

Alex, what exactly to you consider a “real” religion?

…and let the usual religion-bashing begin…

You people are so predictable.
