Nothing Compares to Sinead O’Connor’s Papal Attack

SOUNDBITES — “There should be a full criminal investigation of the Catholic hierarchy of any country in which this has been an issue. There should be a full criminal investigation of the Vatican. There should be a full criminal investigation of the pope. The pope should stand down for the fact that he did not act in a Christian fashion to protect children, and for the fact that his organization acted to preserve their business interests decade after decade rather than be concerned about the interests of children, and for showing so much disrespect for Christ, God, the victims, the rest of us, their own clergy. … The Vatican and the pope need to get on their knees and confess the full truth in the same language they make us use in Mass. . . . They need to get on their knees, open everything up, be transparent, tell the truth, ask the people for forgiveness and prayers.” —Singer Sinead O’Connor, stating the obvious, but making it more meaningful because we always listen more when celebrities are talking (via)

Still on point. Nothing compares to you, babe. ;-)

But how long before Cassandra and her apologist harpies swoop in and call Sinead an atheist slut?

      Waiting, waiting ….

The Pope is sheltering Cardinal Law. The Vatican spirited him out of the states, promoted him, are giving him protection as a new citizen there, and have allowed him to stay on staff so far 3 years beyond the age of resignation. The Pope is ading and abetting somebody who was responsible for hundreds of children being molested in Boston.

No. 5 · Cam wrote, “The Pope is sheltering Cardinal Law.” … it is customary to shelter someone who knows where the bodies are buried (figuratively speaking, of course).

@Miss Understood: Your name applied to her when she spoke the truth on SNL like 20 years ago……….

Cardinal (broke the) Law and Pope Benedick should have been prosecuted for harboring felons years ago…….

Sinead got it right! “Criminal investigation” is exactly what the current pope tried to prevent when he was Cardinal, because like all criminals he wanted 2 protect his posse. The church wanted to keep the abused silent — & the abusers in the church so they wouldnt be disgraced or name names or be force 2 testify.

I like Sineads voice. She is very brave so i wish i was more like her….

      SPEAK TRUTH 2 POWER!

Wonderful, except one thing: “There should be a full criminal investigation of the Vatican.” How, precisely, do you go about a criminal investigation of a foreign, sovereign state?

@Hyhybt: International Court of Justice? UN? European Union (g)?

She may have been nonspecificaly referring 2 the church instead of the country, which is 2 say church leadership.

Not every one referring to the Vatican means the country just like not every one referring 2 the White House or Washington DC means the actual building or the district.

      some people are soooooo literal!!

@jeffree: Not at all. Anybody high enough to be living in Vatican City is, so far as I can tell, pretty much untouchable (unless, as you say, you can get the international court or somesuch involved, but it’s really not the sort of thing they’re set up for.)

@Hyhybt: I will try to speak simply because u have a reading disability and I have 1 for writing.

You responded to less than 1/2 of my message.

When SINEAD referred 2 the VATICAN she may have meant the CHURCH, not the CITY/COUNTRY.

If I say that people in WASHINGTON DC don’t understand my daily struggles to keep a job and pay for food and go to college, I do NOT mean the local government, its citizens, I mean the USA GOVERNMENT. Politicians and lobbyists & such.

      I hope that helps.
Try not 2 be so LITERAL & try to be more LITERATE!!

HINT:::::: If your highschool or community college offers assistance 2 help w/ YOUR problem reading, please accept the help!
      good luck 2 you!!

The Catholic Church is little more than an organized crime syndicate. Until every one of these rapist priests is behind bars there will be no justice.
