NYC’s Most Outspoken Council Speaker Wants Fake Married Gays Reminded Where Real Marriages Are Performed

New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn wants city clerks to inform gay couples that get those fake wedding ceremonies that, while their own state won’t permit them to get married, fleeing on a quick train ride will get them to a state that will! Obviously Quinn hates New York and is a traitor to her own city for pushing gays to go someplace else to experience the joys of not being recognized by the federal government. [via]

Christine Quinn is actually doing a good thing for the New York LGBT community. New York recognizes out of state gay marriages, while not issuing same-sex marriages in state. She’s informing her LGBT fellow New Yorkers that they can get around the law. They can’t get married in New York, but they can still be married in New York. Props, girlfriend.

@ryanthehulk, exactly. Hop on the train to Boston, get married, and be back in time for tea.
