Obama Will Sign Hate Crimes Bill on Wednesday. Gays Invited!

The homos are being beckoned to the White House on Wednesday so President Obama can sign the Defense Department budget bill (and thus the Matthew Shepard Act) in front of a live viewing audience. We imagine Judy Shepard will be front and center.

This is historic. Now, if we can get DADT and DOMA repealed and the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, I won’t regret voting for President Obama.

im led to believe that it was pulled thru a larger military bill…in effect a pork-like addendum….is it a win? i dont know…small steps i suppose, but still it feels tainted.

Unfornately the Dems in both houses seemed to forget how to count, We have the majority in both houses. If they all voted as a single conhesive unit any and all legislation they wanted could be signed into law. Too many blue-dog Dems are ascared of the rightwing-nutbags in their districts to vote along the party lines. The Repugnaticans never were afraid to show their muscle in their 8 years of W……………

There are 68 Senators that are anti-gay. Democrats and Republicans.

It’s easier to tell who is for or against us by knowing their religion, not their Party affiliation.

Brian, confused as ever, wrote, “There are 68 Senators that are anti-gay. Democrats and Republicans. It’s easier to tell who is for or against us by knowing their religion, not their Party affiliation.”

… he means like the recently deceased Ted Kennedy, who was a Roman Catholic and had pushed for gay rights for decades. While Kennedy was apparently devout, you can bet that a lot of senators and congressmen are “religious” only for public consumption and only for an hour per week.

      Christian Scientist (3) 67% Anti-LGBT
      Lutheran (23) 61% Anti-LGBT
      United Church of Christ (5) 60% Anti-LGBT

The entire Congress is 57% Anti-LGBT,

For those of you that believe Democrats are ALL on our side, the truth is 28% of Democrats are Anti-LGBT. 88 of the 317 Democrats in the 111th Congress.

Most of the Democrats that are Anti-LGBT are from States where at least 60% of their constituencies make religion “important.”

Most of the Democrats that are Pro-LGBT are from States where less than 60% of their constituencies make religion “important.”

If either the politician makes religion important, or his/her constituents (+60%) make religion important, they will be Anti-LGBT.

Sen. Kennedy was very Pro-LGBT. In the State of Massachusetts only 48% make religion important. He was one of many Catholic Pro-LGBT politicians from States in the New England and the Northeast that DO NOT make religion important.

In places where religion is important – we’re screwed. It’s that simple.

This is going to backfire like so many other things the government does.

Things will get worse for everyone now, including the government.

So everyone should wake up and see who is really behind all these laws and why they want them forced upon us “we the people.”

Exactly how will this backfire? You seem to be sure about this. I want details please.
