Throughout the day Queerty will be posting images from same-sex wedding celebrations in New York State. Have a great shot of your own? Send it to us at [email protected].
Because it just wouldn’t be a wedding without someone protesting your right to marry the person you love, the “Jesus Saves From Hell” dude put on his best duds and decided to help castigate, err… we mean “celebrate” the happy nuptials by quoting Leviticus and telling us how wicked we are. Hate the win, not the winners, right angry dude?

Technically, he’s got a grammatically vague statement. I know what he means is “Jesus can save you from your eternal suffering in the afterlife”, but I initially read it to mean “Jesus can save you, but he’s doing it from within Hell.” Annnnd that would put a whole new spin on things.

I don’t take too seriously people who treat “saith” as a real word for “says” or “said.”
And too bad for this lunatic that a religious belief is personal, and that even LGBT people can be religious if they want to be.

Who cares what this idiot has to say and why do I have to see his picture on your site?

Thomas Paine would be none too happy to see this lunatic spouting his Christian BS from a park dedicated to his memory . . .
If y’all haven’t read his classic, “Age Of Reason,” there ought to be a copy available for free on the Web somewhere. It’s a great intro to Bible criticism, and just the thing to show to fundamentalists who deify America’s founding fathers.
Thomas Paine and Madelyn O’Hair are two people I’d most like to have breakfast with . . .

@JQD: That’s how I read it too. Jesus saves from Hell. Santa Claus delivers from the North Pole.

The real story in this picture is that there aren’t 100’s of people with him. This is good.

… http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/saith : “archaic present 3d singular of say.”
Words like “saith” are from Middle English (Midlands and Southern dialects): http://www.soton.ac.uk/~wpwt/notes/metrans.htm
Also, there was a gradual transition to the current forms.

Endorsing Leviticus is advocating murdering people for being gay.
We need to quit tolerating this shit, and start calling people out for it. We need to also inquire as to what other Biblical death-penalties they believe should be to carry out, beyond homosexuality.
Here’s a handy list of the Bible’s capital crimes:
Being a habitual drunkard or drug abuser
Hitting or cursing parents, or being a bad son generally
Engaging in idolatry
Engaging in blasphemy
Violating the Sabbath
Converting from Judaism to another religion, or attempting to cause another to convert
Apostasy (failure to worship according to Old Testament rules)
Uttering false prophecy
Practicing magic
Practicing spiritualism
Claiming a woman is a virgin when she is not
Having consensual sex with a person you are not engaged with or married to
Commission of rape, incest or bestiality

@JQD: LOL, that’s funny…

Why don’t people like this protest in front of divorce courts if they truly want to protect marriage so much?
