Oh, The Irony!

As John McCain’s camp worked to suspend their campaign earlier today and focus on the crumbling economy, a Colorado-based campaign office accidentally sent out the staff’s talking points to the media. Sadly for them, one of those talking points was this: “Please do not proactively reach out to the media on this.” [Independent Colorado]

This STUNT isn’t being bought by America.
If McCain thought this was such a dire emergency, he might have gotten his a$$ back to DC 10 days ago. The poll numbers are McCain’s emergency.

Does anyone really think that the leak was an accident? It is my contention that this “leak” occured in order to undermine the Obama campaign in an attempt to portray McCain as a selfless leader who is putting his country before himself. I am sure there is nothing but political motivation behind this.

As a former Arizonan, I never had any respect for Senator Keating Five, but each that goes on, I lose more respect. He is just making me sick.

McCain is awesome and is showing true leadership.

Obama is waiting for frozen angry-face Michelle to tell him what to do.

Let me put on my surprised face. I know I will sleep easier knowing that a senior citizen, that thinks a Blackberry is a pie at Marie Calenders, is crunching numbers.

Anyone see Letterman last night? McCain was supposed to be on but canceled because he wanted to get back to Washington. Dave ripped into him unmercifully the entire show, especially as he managed to find time to be interviewed by Katie Couric.

It’s too bad McCain has sold out who he once was to win at any cost.

He could have retired as a man held in high esteem. He has ruined that opportunity.

The fact that he knows and has admitted his weakness on economic issues and is now trying to pretend he is the great economic savior (Phil Gramm? Who is Phil Gramm?) is irresponsible and a clear sign that this man is not acting in the best interest of the American people. He is acting purely for his own self interest.

If he truly believed in “Country First” he would remove himself and his religious extremist running mate from the ticket.

Marco, that is just it. McCain has always been an opportunist. He cultivated this Maverick image, that was just completely false. What he once was, never was. It was just a media created image. His career started in scandal with the Keating Five (a $3.3 Billion taxpayer funded S&L bailout (sound familiar?)). Covered up for his fellow Republican senators and good buddy Ralph Reed during the Abramoff scandal. And has been a hard-core conservative on almost every issue his entire career.
