Is antigay hate a Duggar family value? Josh Duggar, the oldest of the clan of children who are the focus of TLC’s reality series 19 Kids and Counting (which its worth noting is the sequel to the 2004 special which bore the title 14 Children and Pregnant Again) has indicated it might be. The fundamentalist Christian Arkansas-native has accepted a position as executive director with Family Research Council, which according to GLAAD “has been classified as an antigay hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and has a long history of attacking the LGBT community and their friends, family and allies.”
Duggar made the announcement via Twitter yesterday.

Will Duggar’s employment opportunity have a negative impact on 19 Kids and Counting? Do gays actually watch anything on TLC besides Here Comes Honey Boo Boo? GLAAD thinks so.
“If Josh Duggar wants to make a living dehumanizing and denigrating LGBT people and their families, that’s his business, but FRC’s lies and stereotypes need to be treated as such,” said GLAAD Spokesperson Wilson Cruz. “Josh’s new boss Tony Perkins has actually accused LGBT equality advocates of being pawns of the devil. Fans of his family’s reality show ought to know that.”
