There is always a third option - don't vote. According to the Wikipedia, in the average voter turnout in the last nine presidential elections has been 54%. The last one was considered to have a great voter turnout - 60% voted. The Democrats might have won that election if they didn't have a fool for a candidate [Remember - John Kerry's top selection for a running mate was John McCain. What a fool, and notice an Obama supporter.]

The Democrats have chosen to nominate a candidate that there core voters don't much like in the hopes of securing the votes of Independents who in the early primaries liked Obama but who now support him much less, and for young voters who historically don't come to the polls on election day.

The chances are very high that I will show up at the polls and vote for Obama, after all I voted for John Kerry (though I felt like I had to hold my nose while I did so.)

A big factor will be who McCain chooses as his running mate. And there is always Bob Barr to vote for. After all, he supports repealing part of DOMA.

Unless something magical happens, a vote for Bob Barr is merely a symbolic gesture that will echo through the halls of Nowhere. I wish that weren't the case with third party candidates in this country, but sadly our system is greatly flawed.

I'll vote for McCain for all the reasons I've previously posted.

Hey. A real McCain voter here. But I live in Massachusetts, so don't waste too big a worry for the outcome of the entire election. John McCain is the most qualified candidate to be commander-in-chief (he was a Navy admiral, fighter pilot, etc.) and Obama never served his country (and only recently started wearing a flag pin). Our first priority is the safety and security of the country. Then we can argue over gay marriage, special rights, etc., but only if there is a country to get married in. Plus I like low taxes, low spending, and less government, none of which are Obama's priorities.

"Obama never served his country…"

And…?

I am registered Republican, but this time I am strongly considering Bob Baar as my vote. My vote will likely elect Obama, like how people voted for Nader in 2000 and Bush got elected in Florida.

Even if McCain was bleeding gay pride by supporting ENDA and rejecting DADT. I do not like his immigration and energy policies. However I find Obama's foreign policy abhorrent. You do not negotiate with tyrants in Iran and Venezuela without preconditions. Diplomacy is fine, but negotiate with preconditions.

I am a little unclear on how wearing a flag pin qualifies someone to be president. What national emergency has been averted because of a flag pin? What about foreign policy experience? What about diplomatic experience? What about experience running a large organization or government agency? Why not make "he wears an eye-patch" a qualification? It is just as random.

Cheney never served, and he has a HUGE flag pin, so I hear…it didn't stop him from being PRESIDENT, or stop him from turning everything he touched to sh*t. Katrina was just the tip of the iceberg, now the whole G*D DAMN country is being KATRINED.
