Outing Mama.

Accepting Outfest Legacy Honor for his company Wednesday night, NBC-Universal Entertainment co-chair Ben Silverman outed his mother: “His speech outlined the company’s continuing commitment to the community, then ended on a personal note. ‘I debated whether or not to say this, as I am a bit of a press target,’ said Silverman. The audience was waiting for him to come out. ‘No, it’s not me,’ he continued. ‘But my mother is gay.’” [The Advocate]

Usually it’s the other way around prefaced with the words “Sensitive” “Special” and “A Good boy” so I guess Gay Mama raised you right, Ben!

That’s nice.

Too bad the execs in Hollywood has been looking to “out” SIlverman from his job over the past weeks. Don’t worry, should the execs succeed, he has enough money to survive for a long long time.

Mama is gay?! Who cares? What about you? It’s alright. It’s okay. Both ma and you can be gay, okay? But I guess Mama wasn’t a Home Depot kind of a gal, huh? If she was, she would have raised you with balls to come out with Mama, instead of hiding behind her overalls. Honey, some of us and Aiken can not really hide it as well as others. So come out and get over it! Trust me, your blood pressure alone will go down 30 points!
