Well, Pride Parades ARE absolute farces in the US. Rather than marching for acceptance or something important, it’s just an excuse for lots of people to get as naked as possible, for others to parade around their sexual fetishes (bears, leather etc.) and to just generally be incredibly superficial and not child-friendly at all. It’s a pity, really.

If LGBT people could truly be themselves the rest of the year, they wouldn’t feel the need to “blow off so much steam” at the annual pride parades.
That said… I wouldn’t be the first commenter to remind citizengeek and others like him that the modern gay rights movement only took off after the “outcasts” fought back at Stonewall…
