Yeah the “African tradition” of repeating what was taught to you by Catholic missionaries over a century ago.
And sadly, too many African Americans buy into the lie that “homosexuality” was “introduced” into Africa by “white Europeans”

@QJ201: It was only christianity that introduced homophobia. Homosexuality of course is as old as civilization and in all cultures. I hope hie the pick for the next pope. At least it will polarize and alienate moderate and progressive catholics even more that many will end up leaving or renouncing their faith for something else.

Amanpour asked Turkson if a Catholic priest sex scandal could sweep through Africa as it had through Europe several years ago, to which Turkson replied:
“Unfortunately not in the same proportion that we have seen in Europe.”

@alexoloughlin: Aye, now is the perfect time for an ultra conservative to take the reigns, there’s hundreds of millions of christians on the verge of walking away from their faith and rejoining human society.
We need to make these people feel as awkward as possible with their faith skin because their faith is not compatible with morals, education and living in the new century.
