"Manvendra Singh Gohil, perhaps the only erstwhile Indian royal to have declared himself gay, is expected to be the main attraction at this year's Stockholm Pride, a famous global gay event, starting Friday." [Economic Times]
he's pretty amazing, he is surrounded by so much bigotry and social pressure in India, like 100 times MORE unaccepting and violent than in America, but he stands up and demands respect for gay people, even though his family shuns him and disowns him in public. I'd like to meet him, he seems pretty fascinating. Plus I would love to be invited to his palace!
I think that he's really brave for standing up to India's immense social pressures. I saw a television interview of him, can't remember where, but he was very honest and candid about his family's misunderstanding and hostility.
Are you sure India is 100 times MORE violent than America?? India had its first national gay pride parades this year, and they were much more peaceful compared to some East European countries. Surely some reading would do you no bad.
I'm booking a ticket right now. Step back Sven and Bjorn, you ain't shit. I am a world-class golddigger and chutney-chaser. Love them royal balls!
Oh, my various gods…
